It Band Syndrome

The Iliotibial Band is a thin fibrous muscle that runs on the outside of the leg connecting the hip to the shin. This muscle can become "stuck" to the quad and may exhibit intense knee and/or hip pain. This injury is treatable with Active Release Technique and stretching. It is commonly seen in our office in runners and triathletes.
